MP1501 — Single Door Panel

Overview

The Mercury MP1501 is a single-door access control panel. It supports 1 door with 2 readers (in/out), 8 supervised inputs, and 4 relay outputs. Connects to a host controller (EP1502, EP2500, etc.) via RS-485.

DIP Switches

The MP1501 has an 8-position DIP switch bank used to set the RS-485 board address. The address determines which port on the host controller this panel communicates on.

SW5–SW8: Reserved — leave OFF. Address 0 is typically not used in production (reserved for default/unconfigured).


Wiring Notes

  • RS-485 Bus: Connect A(+) and B(−) to the RS-485 port on the host controller. Daisy-chain up to 32 devices per RS-485 segment. Terminate the last device with a 120Ω resistor.

  • Readers: Reader 1 = Door IN, Reader 2 = Door OUT. Wiegand: D0/D1/+5V/GND. OSDP: A/B/+12V/GND.

  • Door strike: Connect to Relay 1 (NC/COM/NO). Use NC for fail-safe (unlocks on power loss) or NO for fail-secure.

  • Door contact: Connect to Input 1 (supervised — use EOL resistors per system requirements).

  • Rex (Request to Exit): Connect to Input 2.
